Nation Energy – Passive House Windows

NATION ENERGY: Within the Frame / Nation product range, we have now improved U values by introducing a new version of the Nation window, called Nation Energy.

Nation Energy - Passive House Windows

The new Passive House windows version, – called Nation Energy, has been developed by implementing a new deeper frame to the Nation window, which allows for installation of a 48mm 3-layers of window glass. Nation Energy will give U values of down to 0.87 W/m2K while having the benefits of a traditional frame and sash configuration and installation method. Another important addition to Nation Energy is the introduction of an additional outer sash/frame seal for better U values. (Excluding top swing and side swing)

The U values and energy labeling: Values within the reference amount 1230 x1480mm Uw = 0.87 W/m2K and Eref = +12.8 kWh/m2. These are values that places the product high on the energy scale, even in relation to the new energy labeling scheme where the requirement for an A-rated window is somewhat lower Eref ≥ 0 kWh/m2.

The advantage of a thick 3-layer glass construction is that when you get up around 48 – 52mm, you achieve greater U values with standard argon gas filling, which matches the example of a 32mm glass with krypton gas filling. The extra deep frame and the extra outer seal give the new Nation great energy values in this product category.
